PERFORMANCE ART


 Our performance art piece reflected eating disorders, and how they affect those in their everyday lives. We created a very uncomfortable environment by making the room pitch black. This will contribute to the script, and how our words will project in the room. While we say our lines in the dark, each person who is saying their line raises their flashlight and only flashes it on themselves reflecting their inner thoughts or the words on the script. While each person is saying their lines, the whole room is just staring into a dark ibis. This makes it very awkward as well. After we finish the whole script, we then start to eat the pizza in silence. All you can hear is our breathing and chewing. Just like Andy Warhol eating a hamburger, we did it with pizza in the dark. We were sitting in silence until everyone finished their pizza. We then enacted our situations per eating disorder assigned to each group member. After the event we ended it by leaving the room. 


My contributions: I was obesity or overeater. I drove to get the pizza.

MIDTERM 211-3- Group 5

 Fauvism Link to presentation: Media Arts Mid Term - Google Slides Fauvism was inspired by the Post-Impressionist movement. The art included bold colors, non-naturalistic depictions, and textured brushwork. The art was very EXPRESSIVE!! The art gave any object, person, or landscape new colors that people were not used to seeing. The Lauren Bacall that Tim painted with oils, varnish, acrylic, spray paint and gloss may not exactly be the materials that 20th century artists used, but the end result is a revolutionary one. This painting looks like Henri Matisse- Madame Matisse. (The green line) My question for the class: Where did fauvism originate? Answer: D.) Post #8- Lecture-Renaissance

 Lecture-Rennaissance The Rennaissance started in Florence, Italy. The paintings were muted, the colors were muted, and there were rules to what classified an artist as an Artist. The biggest rule was to add black to paintings to make everything stand out. They also used white to create movement in the paintings. Something called the Humanist Philosophy means people have the worth.   The Rennaissance means "rebirth", and it introduced the idea of "Humanism." Humanism came through more realistic, more 3-D, background perspectives, and more color. Byzantine art mimicked more symbolism over reality. Backgrounds were typically Gold, and they had large person in the center of the painting because they were important.  Early Rennaissance brought many painting techniques, and very famous painters and sculptors.
