Futurism was a movement that adopted cubism and supported the fascist dogma, which had aggressive expansionism and Italian cultural supremacy. It developed in Italy in the 20th century and later developed in Russia as well. Futurist painters adopted the cubism techniques of fragmented planes and outlines to show different views on an object. Fillipo Tommaso Marinetti called for art that glorified war. He was pulled in with the idea that war art gave a lot of expressionism through the paintings. Boccioni showed a lot of movement in his sculptures. He produced several plaster sculptures. "Unique forms of continuous space," is very distorted. It has a motion blur, and it attempts to capture motion in a static form. Giacomo Balla showed interest in speed and movement. He was influenced by Marey. "Dynamism of a dog on a leash," is one of the most important artworks in the futurism era of art. Russolos art of noises which replicated the sounds of their surroundings in the 20th century. It gives the sound of the industrial age. Rayonnism created a world beyond our world. Used cubism and impression as inspiration. It took people into a new spiritual age. Suprematism took everything from the real world and became geometric. Pulled away from organic shapes. Maleviches' "Black Square," is a break away from the history of art. It's an infinite space for art to evolve. "White on White" was even more controversial. Constructivism used tools instead of a paintbrush. Things were built and classified as art. There was negative space and random objects were used. Vladimir Tatlin is known as the father of constructivism. "Possibilities of three-dimensional relief." Henry Moore was influenced by constructivism and surrealism. He led humans and psychological dimensions to his sculptures. Nuam Gabo created actual moving art. He found that negative space could be used an element of sculpture. Bauhaus combined music and dance, but it was not any only one thing. It wasn't art or sculptures... it was everything! Tried to reunite fine art and functional design. Kinetic sculpture was a fascination of motion. Created actual movement in paintings and sculptures. Dada art was an explosion of art leading up to that point. Works were used to question society at large. Dada artists were enraged with the world. Hugo Ball said he didn't want to use words that were already invented. Tristan Tzara is considered the founder of Dada. Chance Art took little to no planning. Just incorporate chance into the art piece. Duchamp was into saying that anything was art. Used existing objects and called hem art. The urinal was art for him. He used cubism, surrealism, he puts thing in motion. Conceptual Art was for the mind. It can look like anything. Readymade art can be created in an instant. ANYTHING CAN BE ART. Anti-Modernist movements was against modernism. You cannot define art. Marina Abramovic is a performance artist. She is very controversial for creating wild performance art pieces. Appropriation and Repetition took art that already existed and made it art that could exist in the present. Robert Rauschenberg expressed ongoing concerns in contemporary art through sculptures, photography, paintings and performance. Fluxus is process art. They created their own rules. George Maciunas declared the movement of Fluxus. Museums do not determine the value of art. Many avant-garde artists took part in Fluxus.
